Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy will begin with an intake process to understand your objectives in seeking therapy, assessing current symptoms and areas of impairment, and discussing your history. We will then collaboratively set goals and discuss your treatment plan, which typically includes psychoeducation and skill acquisition targeted to your specific needs.

Sessions most often occur weekly for 45 minutes. Because therapy is individualized, it has no set time frame; it can be short or long-term depending on your goals, needs, and expectations. The course of therapy can also change over time, beginning with a heavier focus on psychoeducation and skill aquisition, then becoming more supportive and focused on maintaining skill utilization.

  • I currently offer telehealth through a HIPAA compliant platform.  I am licensed in New York and New Jersey and am able to meet individuals with a permanent residency in either of these states via telehealth. I do not currently offer in-person sessions but will in the near future.

  • I do not prescribe medication as a clinical psychologist; however, discussion about medication efficacy and adherence is an integral part of therapy. I collaborate with medication prescribers to work as a team to ensure that you are receiving the maximum benefit from your medication.

  • My fee is $300 for a 45 minute session and adjusted for longer or shorter meetings.

I am not affiliated with any insurance provider and my services are considered “out of network” for both virtual and in-person sessions. Many insurance providers include out-of-network benefits, and I am happy to provide monthly receipts that you can submit for reimbursement.

  • I understand that life is unpredictable and that schedules can change. However, when an appointment is reserved, that time is set aside exclusively for you. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, make it difficult to offer that time to another individual in need. For this reason, sessions that are not cancelled/rescheduled with sufficient notice are subject to the full session fee.
